Virginia Tech - Urban Affairs and Planning - National Capital Region

 

The Planning Academy at Virginia Tech offers highly interactive instruction in our intensive training courses for professionals in the planning, design and development fields.

At the Planning Academy, you get personal attention and feedback from nationally recognized instructors.  You also get the chance to network and share experiences with peers from across the country. In many courses, you are given first hand exposure to compelling planning issues through practioner-led site visits.

Courses are conveniently located in our Virginia Tech facilities in Northern Virginia, easily accessible to Washington, D.C. and all parts of the National Capital Region.

The Planning Academy gives you the skills you need to succeed in shaping the built environment in the 21st century.

All courses will be submmitted for AICP CM credits and are also eligible for Virginia Tech Continuing Education credits.

 

The Planning Academy can offer:

  • Classroom instruction in Old Town Alexandria and a well-equipped GIS laboratory at our Falls Church campus

  • Practitioner-led site visits, providing first hand knowledge of key planning concepts

  • Individualized training in your office, designed to meet the needs of your organization
